How Kaspi.kz created a Kazakh paytech revolution with Tietoevry Banking’s card platform

Kaspi.kz, a leading digital ecosystem and Super-App provider in Kazakhstan, faced the challenge of scaling its rapidly growing payment platform to support explosive demand. Tietoevry worked closely with Kaspi.kz to implement a performance improvement program. The solution involved traffic balancing for payment processing, optimizing software process flows with multi-thread processing, and undertaking a database split project to enable horizontal scalability. As a result, the card platform achieved higher throughput and stability, powering Kazakhstan's digital payments revolution. This successfully supported the Super-App's growth, which is now used by over 75% of the Kazakh population, up from a time when electronic payments represented only 13% of all transactions in the country.
