The City of Helsingborg, a mid-sized city in Sweden, faced the challenge of its staff spending excessive time answering repetitive questions and overcoming language barriers in preschools and elderly care homes. This prevented meaningful interactions with children and the elderly. To address this, the city partnered with vendor Tietoevry to implement a solution using Virtual Assistants.

Tietoevry's solution introduced two AI-powered Virtual Assistants: LAIban for preschoolers and Britt-Marie for the elderly. These assistants provided immediate answers to common questions in 11 different languages, empowering users and increasing their independence. For the staff, the solution freed up significant time, allowing them to focus on quality care and meaningful interactions, thereby reducing strain and creating a more inclusive environment.
