Bulder Bank a purely digital challenger bank, from idea to the Norwegian market in 10 months

a major Norwegian bank, Sparebanken Vest, sought to expand its reach and challenge the traditional market with a purely digital challenger bank. They needed to rapidly develop and launch this new entity, named Bulder Bank, with a focus on superior customer experience and mortgage lending services. They partnered with vendor Tietoevry to achieve this ambitious goal.

Tietoevry implemented a Google Cloud-based banking app architecture and a DevOps platform for Bulder Bank. This solution enabled the bank to go from an idea to a fully operational entity in just 10 months. The agile, DevOps approach allowed for the continuous rollout of new features, leading to a successful market entry. By the end of 2020, Bulder Bank had attracted over 10,000 customers and built a mortgage base of roughly 700 million Euros.
