Bergen Municipality faced the challenge of meeting citizen expectations for accessible online social services, in line with Norway's broader digitalization efforts. The municipality needed a streamlined, digital process for citizens to apply for and receive information on social welfare payments. To address this, they partnered with the vendor Tietoevry.

Tietoevry implemented a digital self-service solution, developing new functionality within the Socio system as part of the collaborative Digisos project. This allowed citizens to apply for social welfare payments online at any time via nav.no. For Bergen Municipality, the solution simplified application processing for employees, freed up their time, and made the dialogue with clients more efficient, ensuring round-the-clock service availability.
