Leading Online Educational Provider Facilitates Merger with Seamless Migration to TierPoint Cloud

Darwin Global, launched in 2012, manages the IT and web presence for three growing online-education organizations—Smart Horizons, Smart Horizons Career Online Education (SHCOE) and NexPort Solutions. Facing rapid growth and the need to unify three distinct IT architectures without disrupting 24x7 customer services, Darwin required a seamless migration with virtually no downtime and the ability to scale capacity on demand.

Darwin migrated physical and virtual servers into the TierPoint cloud, using replication and failover to minimize interruption, while adopting F5 load balancing, firewalls, intrusion prevention and Seagate EVault backups for geographic redundancy. The result was a highly available, more secure environment with scalable resources and faster provisioning (capacity and storage expansion moved from weeks to minutes), plus ongoing TierPoint management support for routine administration and monitoring.
