Central Valley School District Migrates to TierPoint

Central Valley School District (CVSD), a K–12 district serving 12,600 students across 22 schools in Spokane Valley, WA, faced aging server hardware, rising upgrade and licensing costs, and limited IT staff. With tight budgets and a need to improve reliability and security before the school year, district leaders decided to move their production systems to a cloud provider.

CVSD selected TierPoint and migrated 22 physical servers to a VMware vCloud environment, adding network segmentation, web filtering, intrusion prevention, data leak prevention, secure remote access and a high‑speed fiber ring. The managed cloud deployment was completed on schedule, eliminated recurring hardware refresh costs, improved application performance and security, and freed IT staff to focus on supporting students and teachers.
