Kaspi.kz powers digital payments for 75% of Kazakhstan with Tieto

Kaspi.kz, a leading digital ecosystem in Kazakhstan, faced the challenge of scaling its fast-growing Super-App and card platform to handle explosive demand. To drive additional usage, expand functionality, and improve overall payment platform performance, it continued its partnership with vendor Tieto Banktech.

Tieto Banktech worked closely with Kaspi.kz, implementing solutions from its Card Suite. These included optimizing payment processing traffic for horizontal scalability, reviewing and optimizing software process flows, and working on an issuing authorization database split via sharding. As a result, the platform achieved higher throughput, stability, and scalability. This supported massive transaction volumes, helping Kaspi.kz grow to where its Super-App is used by over 75% of Kazakhstan's population, leading the country's digital payments transformation.
