STCU Gains Greater Insights with Fewer Reports

Spokane Teachers Credit Union (STCU), a $4.1B credit union serving more than 220,000 members, faced a sudden need to replace a 14-year-old BI system when its vendor ended support. The legacy installation had become unwieldy—about 6,000 reports—and analysts still relied on Excel tweaks to get needed calculations and visualizations. STCU also wanted smarter, more targeted marketing and a true 360-degree view of members.

STCU selected TIBCO to consolidate data from its Finastra core and other systems into a Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse and deliver analytics via a web portal. The new solution reduced reporting to 220 flexible reports, supports 600+ regular users with role-based access, and gives analysts better tools for targeted campaigns and trend detection. Nightly automated alerts surface issues like missing signature cards or refund needs, cutting manual work and improving operational follow-up.
