Skipton Building Society, a UK mutual lender, was held back by a dated, monolithic IT system that limited digital engagement just as customers began demanding mobile and online access—particularly for Lifetime ISA (LISA) accounts. The inflexible architecture prevented fast innovation and the ability to consume modern RESTful services needed to meet evolving customer expectations.

By adopting TIBCO’s integration and API platform, Skipton modernized connectivity, launched the UK’s first online cash LISA and a mobile app, and enabled faster product rollouts via standardized APIs. The outcome was rapid growth and engagement: a 10% increase in customers (3% in the first month), more than one million mobile logins, and reaching its one‑million customer milestone years ahead of schedule.
