Siemens Mobility, a global provider of rail and road transport systems and lifecycle services, faced the challenge of preventing service delays caused by equipment failures. To meet its ambitious goal of 100% train availability-to-schedule, the company needed fast, accurate real-time analytics that could handle both IoT sensor data and legacy systems across complex fleets.

Siemens partnered with TIBCO to build Railigent, a cloud-native app (on AWS) using TIBCO Spotfire for edge analytics and automated corrective actions. By analyzing up to 150,000 data points per second across roughly 2,000 components per train, the solution enables predictive maintenance, faster decision-making, and coordinated technician dispatch—delivering a ~30% reduction in lifecycle costs and a 30–50% decrease in unplanned downtime.
