Schlumberger Strengthens DELFI Environment with TIBCO Spotfire Analytics

Schlumberger, the world’s largest oilfield services company, needed to give customers faster, better insights as declining oilfields and exploding data complexity strained traditional workflows. Its DELFI initiative aimed to disrupt the industry but faced “data overwhelm,” having to manage hundreds of data types and sources while accelerating innovation.

By partnering with TIBCO and embedding Spotfire into the DELFI environment, Schlumberger gained scalable analytics, improved data management and quality, and addressed all use cases. The outcome was dramatically faster time to insight—managing 270 data types and 150 sources—and much shorter development cycles (for example, a subsurface modeling workflow went from 18 months to 8 days), delivering clear value to customers.
