A TIBCO Software Case Study
Fannie Mae, the leading source of mortgage liquidity in the U.S., faced an outdated integration architecture after the housing crisis: brittle custom point-to-point interfaces, batch file exchanges, and no end-to-end visibility left the company unable to react quickly to changing business needs. The agency needed an event-driven, fault-tolerant platform to support mission-critical operations and scale with the business.
Beginning in 2008 Fannie Mae implemented TIBCO BusinessWorks and TIBCO Messaging to create a single enterprise data infrastructure that now orchestrates over 90 upstream systems and more than 250 downstream systems. The platform connects 125+ major endpoints, handles roughly 20 million messages per day, and moved downstream updates from 2–5 days to near-real-time—enabling billions of dollars in funding to the housing market, faster services for partners, and plans for hybrid cloud and Kafka experimentation.
