PostNL delivers superior service with master data management

PostNL, the Netherlands’ largest postal and parcel service handling over one million parcels and eight million postal items daily for nearly nine million addresses, needed to become a more customer‑centric, data‑driven logistics company. Rapid e‑commerce growth and a cloud migration exposed gaps in data quality, duplicated customer records, and costly, inflexible MDM processes—so PostNL sought a solution that would improve data stewardship, speed deployments, and control costs.

Working with TIBCO Silver Partner Systemation, PostNL implemented TIBCO EBX master data management using Systemation’s development accelerator and automated deployment framework to migrate domain‑related repositories and establish a federated model of data ownership. The project delivered faster, easier updates and stronger data stewardship, cut MDM technology costs by 30–40%, reduced invoice errors, simplified products and processes, and sparked a cultural shift toward better use of data—with plans to expand devOps and connect more applications to the EBX platform.
