Pillsbury, a Diageo food division known for brands like Häagen‑Dazs, Green Giant and Old El Paso, needed a way to deliver consistent, enterprise‑wide data analysis and modeling to support faster, more informed decisions across R&D, operations, quality and marketing. Dr. Fred Hulting led the effort to centralize analytical capabilities so employees from manufacturing floor staff to marketing executives could access real‑time, standardized tools and analyses.
Pillsbury implemented StatServer with S-PLUS as a web‑based intranet solution, giving users browser access to customized data collection, design and analysis tools and easy export to Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes. The rollout provided centralized data and analysis capabilities, improved productivity, broader adoption of analytic best practices, seamless desktop delivery and global, multiuser access—enabling more confident, data‑driven business decisions.
