MAIF Improves Knowledge and Customer Service with Spotfire

MAIF, a French mutual insurer serving over 3 million members, needed to give nontechnical business users easy, visual access to data. Existing BI tools were too technical for exploratory visual analytics, limiting users’ ability to manipulate data and draw operational insights for portfolios, agencies and claims management.

MAIF adopted TIBCO Spotfire for its rich visualizations, drill-down capabilities and strong mobile features, running workshops and proofs of concept to drive adoption. Three Spotfire applications—portfolio and agency segmentation, mapping customer portfolios to municipalities (enriched with INSEE data), and weather-related claims forecasting—are now in production, producing enthusiastic daily users, clearer agency segmentation, better-aligned local strategies and improved claims response and service quality.
