Lekarna Ljubljana Leverages TIBCO Spotfire Analytics for Sales and Operations Financial Management

Lekarna Ljubljana, Slovenia’s largest pharmacy chain with 39 locations, an e-commerce presence, a wholesale division and an in-house drug laboratory, needed faster, more flexible analytics than the static Excel and PerformancePoint reports they were using. They faced a complex challenge: combine multiple hierarchical data sources (retail, wholesale, production and loyalty-card data for 100,000+ customers) to analyze financials, inventory and customer buying behavior—something a custom BI build would have been costly and slow.

With help from ADD, Lekarna deployed TIBCO Spotfire to import and visually combine disparate data sources, delivering interactive dashboards for warehouse operations, production costing, sales performance and CRM segmentation viewable via web and iPad. The result was a quick, cost-effective, real-time analytics capability that surfaces known and unknown patterns, identifies top customers and stores, improves margin and inventory insight, and enables targeted marketing programs tied to customer buying habits.
