KBTG Creates Digital Lifestyle Banking with Data Virtualization

KBTG, the technology arm of K Bank serving about 16 million retail customers, aimed to become a digital lifestyle bank but struggled to provide timely, consolidated data for mobile apps and internal teams. Faced with up to 10 million transactions per day, dozens of downstream systems, and competition from non‑bank digital services, KBTG needed a faster, more stable way to deliver data without lengthy ETL projects.

By deploying TIBCO Data Virtualization, KBTG built a single data layer that represents 12–15 sources and feeds some 20–30 downstream systems, enabling rapid creation of reports and web services. The result: greater stability and performance, faster time to market (days or weeks instead of months), and the ability to combine disparate product data into customer‑facing views like “My Portfolio,” improving user experience and operational agility.
