After 2008 regulatory changes and the proliferation of dark and light pools, the firm struggled with fragmented trading systems, siloed data, and massive message volumes (up to 500 million messages/day), making it difficult to measure client profitability, find best execution, and improve operational efficiency.

To address this, Convergex implemented an event-driven monitoring and analytics layer using TIBCO StreamBase to process Fast Data in real time. The platform consolidated monitoring across components, enabled rapid development with less hardware, and turned 500 million daily messages into about 1,000 actionable alerts—supporting real-time compliance surveillance, faster client onboarding, improved trade execution, and more efficient fraud detection and development cycles.
