Aeroporti di Roma, which operates Leonardo da Vinci‑Fiumicino and Rome Ciampino airports and serves over 47 million passengers, needed to unify siloed data across the passenger journey to deliver more innovative, efficient and resilient services. The challenge was to gain end‑to‑end visibility of customer behavior and operational status so the airport could prevent critical events, improve passenger flow, and personalize the travel experience.

Partnering with TIBCO, ADR implemented an integrated platform (ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks, Enterprise Message Service, StreamBase, Live Datamart, API Exchange, etc.) that correlates data from reservations, parking, check‑in, security, retail, boarding and transport into real‑time dashboards and passenger‑flow analytics. The solution enabled predictive KPIs and a single Airport Operations Plan view for stakeholders, reduced operational costs, improved customer experience and retail revenue, supported a 90,000 m2 boarding‑area expansion (~6M additional passengers/year), and set the stage for further personalization and efficiency gains.
