Yellow Pages Group, a Canadian digital media and marketing company, needed to transform its well-known print directory business for the online and mobile era. Faced with multiple merchant data sources that produced incomplete, duplicate, and outdated listings, YPG launched its Content Accuracy & Relevance (CAR) initiative to ensure listings were complete, accurate, timely, and relevant across search, mobile, and partner platforms.
YPG chose a single-vendor TIBCO solution—TIBCO MDM with ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks and Enterprise Message Service—to centralize governance, matching, de-duplication, metadata management, and integration. Implemented in under six months, the platform removed 1.2 million duplicates, corrected over 500,000 geo-codes, boosted perceived consumer relevance by more than 10%, and established an Online Merchant Management system to protect data quality and support future expansion into brands, products, and consumer profiles.
