Belgium Department of Agriculture and Fisheries Nurtures Environmental Insights

The Flanders Department of Agriculture and Fisheries needed to provide up-to-date environmental and geographic information to the public and local policy-makers but relied on slow, manual data gathering and posting. Without a flexible platform to share and visualize inputs from farmers, fishers and researchers, decision-making was often intuition-driven and collaboration was limited.

The department implemented TIBCO Spotfire to automate data collection, deliver self-service interactive visualizations on its website, and enable real-time reporting. The platform now serves about 50,000 users across stakeholders, streamlines processes, produces deeper insights, and supports data-driven policy and business decisions for agriculture and fisheries in Flanders.
