National Bank of Canada adopted a master data management (MDM) program to deliver its "one client, one bank" vision, eliminate data silos, support a new SAP platform and BI environment, and meet Basel II reporting requirements. For the pilot and subsequent corporate rollout they selected TIBCO EBX (EBX) to manage master data, cross-reference data and system parameters.

TIBCO EBX was deployed as a central MDM hub with an agile, iterative delivery model, dedicated data stewards, governance committee workflows, versioning and audit logging. The EBX implementation grew from a 60‑domain pilot to 500+ domains, became the single source for corporate dimensions feeding BI/DWH and downstream systems, cut development costs by ~40%, reduced application footprint and IT intervention, and measurably improved data quality and governance.
