Maintaining high operations tempo via multi-domain MDM

NetSpend, a TSYS company and market leader in general-purpose reloadable debit products (4.4M active accounts, $19B GDV), needed to "maintain a high operations tempo" across complex payment, settlement and finance systems. Facing fragmented master and reference data across finance, accounting, settlement, retail/distributor channels and HR, NetSpend required a single source of truth and strong data governance to reconcile millions of transactions to the penny. To meet this challenge they partnered with TIBCO EBX to implement multi-domain MDM including operational, analytical, collaborative and reference data management.

TIBCO EBX delivered a multi-domain MDM platform that centralized partner, bank, product, chart-of-accounts and employee masters; introduced collaborative workflows for partner master creation; and implemented an automated SCD Type‑2 data-sync into the EDW (with EBX_ADMIN schema, real‑time replication and DB triggers). The solution synchronized OLTP, analytics and third‑party systems (including Salesforce), enabled robust governance and a single source of truth, and let NetSpend reconcile millions of transactions accurately while streamlining master-data distribution across its large distributor and retail network.
