Koch Industries Democratizes Data for a Complex Enterprise

Koch Industries, a diversified conglomerate of a dozen subsidiary companies with 122,000 employees and complex, siloed data systems, needed to democratize data and improve enterprise-wide governance and analytics as its businesses modernized. To tackle disparate master data and metadata tools and enable consistent governance across independent IT teams, Koch Industries selected TIBCO EBX data management software to design a master data management (MDM) approach and pilot tenant-based implementations.

TIBCO EBX delivered a hybrid MDM, single-instance multi-tenant platform that lets each business run autonomous data spaces while sharing templated functions and tooling. The TIBCO EBX solution enabled rapid tenant compartmentalization (days instead of months), helped Koch build 10 tenants with eight in production, accelerated time-to-value for each new tenant, reduced development cycles, and delivered major cost efficiencies alongside measurable increases in data quality, reporting, and cross-business collaboration.
