A TIBCO EBX Case Study
eSanté Luxembourg (Agence eSanté), the national agency for exchanging health information and operator of the country's Electronic Health Record (DSP), faced the challenge of ensuring unambiguous, machine-readable exchange of clinical data among many parties and systems. To address this, they worked with TIBCO EBX to deploy a healthcare Terminology Server (Semantic Server) built on EBX to manage reference terminologies and local code sets such as LOINC, SNOMED‑CT and ICD‑10.
TIBCO EBX implemented a centralized terminology-as-a-service that governs code lists, versions, crosswalks, visualizations, workflows, permissions and distribution to consumers and owners. The EBX-based server improved semantic interoperability across the national eSanté platform, was validated at the IHE‑Europe Connectathon (April 2016) demonstrating flexibility and IHE SVS compliance, and now provides up-to-date, governed reference values to support integration and safer, unambiguous data exchange.
