Axpo Holding AG, a Swiss energy group active across production, distribution, sales and trading in Europe, struggled with decentralized master data maintenance across independently acting trading units. The fast-changing energy market and lack of technical process support created redundancy and inconsistent data, so Axpo selected TIBCO EBX (EBX5) to establish a centralized master data management platform.

TIBCO EBX delivered a phased EBX5 rollout (Phase 1: Trading Books, Mandates, Risk Reports; Phase 2: Counterparties, Clients, Contracts; Phase 3: Market Data Catalogue and Licenses) that used model-driven GUIs, version branching/merging, configurable workflows and extensibility. With developer training and an integration layer (publisher → analyser → message writer → message queue → trading systems), TIBCO EBX enabled fast installation, flexible data modelling, stronger process control and reduced redundancy across Axpo’s trading units while allowing Axpo teams to perform most development themselves.
