Case Study: Santos Brasil streamlines operations and boosts employee engagement with Thrive

How the biggest port operator in Latin America streamlined their operations using an employee app

Santos Brasil, the largest port operator in Latin America, needed a way to improve operations and internal communications for its workforce of around 3,000 employees, many of whom had limited access to computers. Working with Thrive, the company set out to replace notice boards and phone calls with a mobile employee app called VivaVoz.

Thrive implemented the VivaVoz app to deliver real-time shift and vessel information, operational updates, targeted company news, and self-service HR features such as travel and medical allowance claims and overtime checks. The result was improved efficiency, stronger employee engagement, better knowledge sharing, and reduced absenteeism and turnover, with Santos Brasil saying the app has become an integral part of daily operations since its 2018 launch.
