How Ireland’s postal service enhanced communications with their remote workforce

An Post, Ireland’s state-owned postal service and one of the country’s largest employers, needed a better way to communicate with its largely remote, field-based workforce. With many employees out on the road and limited IT confidence among staff, internal messages were often filtered through management or missed entirely, and printed newsletters were too slow for urgent updates. An Post worked with Thrive to find a simple, fast-to-use communications solution.

Thrive implemented a mobile employee app, launched in April 2018, to deliver news, CEO messages, internal vacancies, and urgent alerts directly to staff. The app quickly became An Post’s “number one channel of choice,” with strong employee feedback and broad engagement with content, including CEO posts. Thrive’s solution improved communication consistency and reach, and An Post is now planning further segmentation to make content even more personalised.
