Case Study: West Memphis School District achieves stronger network security with ThreatSTOP

A ThreatSTOP Case Study

Preview of the West Memphis School District Case Study

West Memphis School District - Customer Case Study

West Memphis School District, serving 12 campuses in West Memphis, AR, faced serious hidden security risks across its 1,500 computers and 50 servers, including malware and botnets “calling home” to countries like China. Network administrator Gary Woodward discovered the problem during a 30-day ThreatSTOP trial, after realizing the district’s existing protections were not enough to catch advanced threats.

ThreatSTOP was deployed at the firewall as an added line of defense, using web-based reports and log analysis to identify, block, and help remediate infections. The results were significant: in one typical week, ThreatSTOP blocked 5,480 inbound attacks and 135,072 outbound attacks from 341 inbound and 116 outbound attackers, giving West Memphis School District better protection, faster cleanup, and much greater peace of mind.
