Earth Systems, a geotechnical engineering and environmental firm with 155 employees across 11 offices, was struggling with hundreds of hidden malware infections that its Cisco router/firewall failed to block. ThreatSTOP implemented its service using a Vyatta 514 appliance in transparent bridge mode before the Cisco 2821, allowing ThreatSTOP feeds to update protection rules automatically. The result was immediate visibility into daily inbound and outbound blocks through web-based reports, faster cleanup of infected machines, and reduced spam and recon bot traffic. ThreatSTOP also blocked Zeus and other bot call-home attempts, helping Earth Systems quickly identify and remediate problems.
