Mi9, one of Australia’s leading digital media companies, wanted to capitalise on the growing multi-screen and social TV trend but had limited time and an unclear app scope ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games. They needed a fast, engaging second‑screen solution to drive viewer interaction and extend brand engagement.

ThoughtWorks partnered with Mi9 to rapidly define features and build the Jump‑In iPad app in under two months, delivering an interactive social TV guide that let users schedule reminders and access enhanced Olympic content. The reusable architecture allowed updates without App Store releases, enabled a Windows 8 release within six weeks, and scaled to all free‑to‑air channels—delivering on time and budget and positioning Mi9 for future social TV opportunities.
