JustGiving - Customer Case Study

JustGiving, the UK online fundraising pioneer used by more than 13,000 charities, wanted to make it simple and fast for mobile users — not just fundraisers — to discover causes, give money and receive personalised, inspiring content. With an eight-week deadline and the goal of letting charities push rich stories to supporters, they engaged ThoughtWorks to help scope, design and build a consumer-facing mobile app.

ThoughtWorks ran an Innovation Lab using Lean and Agile methods, rapid user‑persona work and guerrilla testing, and chose an iOS-first release to hit the schedule. Developers used the Calatrava framework to preserve a native UI while sharing core logic for faster Android follow-up; the iOS app was delivered to the App Store in eight weeks. The result is a streamlined mobile giving experience that surfaces personalised causes and richer charity content, expected to boost net giving and engage new, mobile-first supporters.
