Chime for Change is a global campaign founded by Gucci to raise funds and awareness for girls’ and women’s empowerment across education, health and justice. ThoughtWorks was brought in late in the design phase to build the campaign’s web platform ahead of a fixed TED2013 announcement date, facing a seven-week deadline, high design fidelity, many stakeholders across nine organizations, and the need to serve video, social integrations and a consistent experience across phones, tablets and desktops.
ThoughtWorks assembled a small cross‑functional team, prioritized a minimum viable product, and used a Lean approach with test‑driven development, automated testing and continuous delivery plus responsive design to meet device and design demands. The site launched on time, supported rapid follow‑on releases (including Ticketmaster integration for a fundraising concert), and was handed to a support team with analytics and an automated deployment pipeline to enable fast, confident future updates.
