Langs Building Supplies, a Gold Coast–based whole-of-house supplier serving builders across Queensland and northern New South Wales, faced a major technology challenge: a 20-year-old ERP and legacy BI tools that couldn’t meet modern needs or empower frontline users. CIO Mathew Day led a 30-day vendor review of 10 analytics platforms to find an API-driven, AI-aware solution that would give nontechnical teams fast, self-serve access to insights — and selected ThoughtSpot.

ThoughtSpot was deployed rapidly and provided intuitive search, AI-driven SpotIQ suggestions, and live-data modeling so business users could discover and share insights independently. The rollout put analytics into the hands of about 100 sales and finance users, achieved 80% adoption in three months, empowered 75% of the sales team to uncover new opportunities, was deployed in 15 minutes, and helped increase market penetration and overall revenue; the team has since added external datasets and is preparing a customer portal with ThoughtSpot Everywhere.
