IDEO, the global design firm behind products like the Swiffer and the first Apple mouse, needed a more intuitive way for its 500+ employees across eight offices to create and manage collaborative online spaces. After testing more than 20 systems, the team sought a solution that was simple enough for communities to adopt without training yet powerful enough to support ongoing knowledge sharing and project work.

They chose ThoughtFarmer, which now powers IDEO’s “Spaces” and hosts a fluid mix of ideas, discussions, documents and project materials. Within six months the platform drove hundreds of times more activity than previous wiki-like tools and has become an integral part of IDEO’s intranet.
