How ThoughtFarmer's mobile app equipped frontline workers with the news and resources they needed to be successful in their jobs

Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) is a public transit agency in Colorado with about 350–400 employees across six offices—roughly 65% of whom are frontline field workers without corporate email or regular desk access. RFTA relied on printed memos and a hard-to-navigate shared drive, leaving drivers and mechanics out of the communication loop; the COVID-19 pandemic made those workarounds unsustainable and highlighted the need for a modern, mobile-friendly intranet.

RFTA selected ThoughtFarmer and rolled out a full-featured intranet with a parity mobile app offering personalized news feeds, push notifications, people directory, forms, pay-stub access and training videos. Strategic adoption tactics (making benefits and pay stubs intranet-only, homepage polls, team spaces) drove usage—about one in five employees use the mobile app regularly—resulting in frontline workers accessing information anywhere, faster service requests, better training access, and noticeably improved internal engagement (with ongoing goals to increase weekly logins and content ownership).
