How an award winning employer leverages their intranet to improve communication and unite remote employees

PCI (Publishing Concepts Inc.) is a nearly century-old Dallas-based publisher of alumni and member directories with about 460 associates across multiple sites and many remote workers. After acquiring competitor Harris Connect and rapidly growing, PCI had no intranet and needed a user-friendly, easy-to-manage platform to unite dispersed teams, centralize learning and process documentation, and reinforce a strong, values-driven culture.

They launched ThoughtFarmer as “PubHub,” using tactics like reducing email content to drive visits and leveraging features—from an Associate Marketplace, talent shows and personal life highlights to a “Victory Vault,” CEO blogs and direct-feedback forms—to boost engagement, transparency and efficiency. Built-in FormFlow and strong customer support streamlined workflows and meeting notes, and PubHub kept the company connected through the pandemic, increasing employee connection and productivity while paving the way for a company-wide training library and future intranet accolades.
