How a growing nonprofit used their intranet to engage and support employees, while achieving an ROI

Coast Mental Health is a Vancouver-based nonprofit that supports people with mental health challenges across 52 sites and nearly 800 employees, most of whom are deskless or remote. Rapid growth and reliance on email and shared drives made it hard to share critical policies, coordinate across locations, and prove that any new technology would deliver measurable value.

Working with Tangowork, CMH implemented a ThoughtFarmer intranet called Coast Connect, backed by a superuser program and content migration of over 200 SOPs. The platform centralized knowledge, introduced FormFlow for streamlined incident reporting, and provided analytics and a COVID-19 hub for timely updates. Within six months engagement metrics improved (some doubled), document clutter was reduced, the staff directory became the most visited page, and the intranet delivered clear operational efficiencies and stronger employee connection.
