A ThoughtFarmer Case Study

Employees took responsibility at Farm Bureau Bank and helped create a social intranet that defines the organizational culture and brings the company together as a team

Farm Bureau Bank, the online-banking arm of the nationwide Farm Bureau, faced stagnant internal communications and a dry, IT-controlled intranet that left employees disengaged and departments siloed. The bank needed a more social, easy-to-use platform to improve collaboration, share business-critical information, and build a stronger corporate culture.

FBB launched ThoughtFarmer’s "Insider" intranet, appointing departmental content contributors and adding social features like the Barnyard, shout-outs, polls, KPI pages and one-click app links, while integrating existing systems. Within months the intranet exceeded expectations: employee engagement rose, cross-department collaboration improved, remote reps felt more connected, hundreds of person-hours were saved, email and paper use dropped, and the Insider became a central part of the bank’s culture.
