Case Study: Graymont Limited achieves cross-border collaboration and a self-healing knowledge base with ThoughtFarmer

A ThoughtFarmer Case Study

Preview of the Graymont Limited Case Study

200-year-old limestone quarries using Enterprise 2.0 technology

Graymont Limited, one of North America’s largest lime producers with operations on century-old sites and more than 1,000 employees across dozens of locations, needed a way to “transcend the continent” and connect desk and non-desk workers alike. The company wanted a fast, inclusive intranet to share information and build relationships, but found Microsoft SharePoint would be a large, expensive and long project.

Graymont implemented ThoughtFarmer’s myGraymont, launching a full intranet in three months that serves as the portal to applications (including JD Edwards ERP), the company directory, and a living document repository with thousands of editable policies and how‑tos. The easy-to-use system reduced IT overhead, improved access to tools and information, and is already fostering cross-border knowledge sharing, informal communities and expected cost savings through better collaboration.
