Folio launches a Rails MVP in under 1 year with thoughtbot, reaching 200 hotel clients

Folio, a company aiming to improve how hotels buy and sell, needed to develop a complex niche marketplace application from an idea to a minimum viable product under a tight deadline set by their first pilot customer. They partnered with thoughtbot for its product management, UX/UI design, and Ruby on Rails development services to build the right MVP and establish a strong product foundation.

thoughtbot designed, developed, and launched the Folio web application, a one-stop shop for hotels to browse, order, and pay suppliers. This allowed Folio to successfully onboard their premiere pilot customer. Within a year, Folio grew to serve 200 hotel clients, raised a $14M Series A round, and was able to hire its own technical team thanks to the foundation provided by thoughtbot.
