The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation Pivots to Modern, Engaging Learner Experience to Improve Critical Mental Health Treatment

Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, a treatment and education organization supporting clinicians and families affected by substance use disorder and mental health disorders, needed to replace a decade-old digital content platform that was not mobile friendly and lacked basic learner features like search, bookmarks, and robust reporting. The old system made it difficult for both users and administrators to find content, understand behavior, and deliver more personalized learning. Thought Industries was selected to help modernize the foundation’s customer education experience.

Using Thought Industries’ enterprise learning platform and Panorama, Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation was able to pivot from a linear program to a learner-driven experience in just 60 days, even during COVID-19. The new solution enabled audience segmentation, custom branding, better access control, and more insightful reporting, while also supporting the creation of 300+ micro-content assets. The results included a 30% increase in engagement in one program and 87% of learners rating the content 4 or 5 stars.
