Case Study: Trinity Place Holdings preserves the Robert and Anne Dickey House with Thornton Tomasetti

A Thornton Tomasetti Case Study

Trinity Place Holdings saves 80% of Dickey House’s original fabric with Thornton Tomasetti

The customer, Trinity Place Holdings, faced a significant challenge when the stability of their historic landmark, the Robert and Anne Dickey House, was severely compromised by adjacent construction. Thornton Tomasetti was engaged to provide stabilization, restoration, and emergency response services to secure and preserve the rare Federal-style building.

Thornton Tomasetti developed a strategy that used modern consolidation techniques, including masonry grouting and helical masonry ties, to address voids and restore structural integrity. This approach saved roughly 80% of the original building fabric, a result that would have been impossible with traditional repair methods. The project successfully preserved the authenticity and aesthetics of the valuable historic structure.
