The Howard Hughes Corporation was developing The Park Ward Village, a master-planned community in Honolulu, Hawaii, which included a 41-story residential tower. They engaged Thornton Tomasetti to provide structural engineering services for the one-million-square-foot development.

Thornton Tomasetti designed an efficient structural system utilizing long-span post-tensioned concrete beams for the parking areas and post-tensioned flat plate slabs for the residential spaces. The lateral system for the project consisted of concrete shear walls. The solution provided by Thornton Tomasetti supported the creation of a building featuring 546 residential units, extensive commercial space, and a large amenity deck.
