A Thornton Tomasetti Case Study

Nashville Soccer Club opens 30,000-seat Geodis Park with Thornton Tomasetti

The Nashville Soccer Club required erection engineering services for the construction of their new 30,000-seat stadium, Geodis Park. The club's challenge was to build the largest soccer-specific stadium in the United States on time and within budget. Thornton Tomasetti was engaged to provide its expertise for this complex project.

Thornton Tomasetti reviewed the temporary stability of the steel and CLT hybrid structures during erection, focusing on the stability of the 85-foot-long roof canopy cantilever trusses. The vendor provided a detailed, sealed erection procedure with 3D views of the step-by-step sequence and minimum bolt-up requirements for the field crew. As a result of Thornton Tomasetti's solution, the project was completed both on time and under budget.
