CJ Corporation needed to consolidate its distributed pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and food products R&D efforts into a single, innovative headquarters. To achieve this, they engaged Thornton Tomasetti to provide façade consulting services for their new 12-story complex.

Thornton Tomasetti delivered comprehensive façade peer review, overseeing the design of specialized glazing systems, sunshades, and a glass atrium. The solution included a highly-specialized curtain wall and a perforated aluminum shading ribbon that controlled solar heat gain. The resulting energy-efficient building, which won multiple awards including the 2018 Lab of the Year Award, successfully brought 900 researchers together into a single, interdisciplinary facility.
