Bauer Media, part of Bauer Media Group, wanted to boost employee engagement, improve understanding of its rewards package, and reduce both benefits costs and administrative burden. The company was managing its reward program through three different providers, and turned to Thomsons Online Benefits for a more integrated benefits and reward management solution, including advice, broking, employee helpdesk support, and technology.

Thomsons Online Benefits implemented its Darwin™ platform and a full-service benefits offering, including a new benefits portal, automated administration, and direct online enrollment. Thomsons also re-broked Bauer’s core benefits to secure better market rates and launched the “Benefits Box” communications campaign. The result was higher employee engagement, streamlined administration, and measurable savings of more than £105,000 across PMI, GIP, and GLA policies, with a net total saving of £57,000 from the full service appointment and pension membership rising to 68% from 49%.
