Charles Russell Speechlys, a top-30 UK law firm formed by a 2014 merger with about 500 lawyers and a global footprint, needed to consolidate finance and practice systems and scale billing from roughly 3,000 to an estimated 14,000 bills. The firm recognized that its existing document automation tools would struggle with the increased volume and complex, varied billing templates.

To meet the challenge they rolled out Thomson Reuters Elite Enterprise firm‑wide and implemented Design Gallery for automated data transformation. Design Gallery consolidated dozens of legacy templates into a single configurable design, produced bills faster and more accurately with no output backlogs, integrated smoothly with Enterprise (and planned 3E) and helped unify the firm’s client-facing documents and brand.
