Cox Smith, the largest law firm in San Antonio, needed to replace a struggling document automation system that produced slow, incomplete proformas, invoices and conflict reports and could not handle growing data volumes. The firm’s existing Document Studio caused delays and reliability issues that hampered billing and conflict review processes, so Cox Smith sought a more stable, scalable solution.

Working as an early beta partner, Cox Smith implemented Thomson Reuters Elite’s Design Gallery, collaborating on development to tailor conflict reporting and data workflows. The new XML-based solution delivered immediate stability and huge performance gains (documents that took up to 30 minutes now generate in seconds; proforma runs that ran all day now finish in hours), streamlined on-screen conflict summaries with direct database links, easier integration with other systems, reduced resource overhead and simple virtualized maintenance.
