Base Launches its First Builder Quest & Brings New Developers Onchain

Base, a secure and scalable Ethereum Layer 2 network built by Coinbase, wanted to onboard developers to its ecosystem. The challenge was to create an engaging and educational quest that would teach builders how to deploy a smart contract on its new network. Base partnered with thirdweb, using its Wallet SDK and smart contract tools, to power this initiative.

thirdweb provided the complete web3 development toolkit for the Base Builder Quest. The solution included a seamless Connect Wallet component, a dashboard for smart contract management, and signature-based minting to verify user participation. This resulted in over one million wallets deploying a contract on the Base testnet, with thirdweb directly enabling approximately 198,000 of those deployments.
